Alternative Gift Fair – 2018

It’s that time of year again, Christmas! With all the hustle and bustle, decorating and of course, shopping.  Do you wish you could give a more meaningful gift than a sweater that’s likely to end up in a drawer?  Do you want to give a gift that honors the true spirit of the season and won’t be re-gifted? Would you like to give a gift that offers hope and changes lives?  Come to the Alternative Gift Fair!

On Sunday, December 2, 2018, the East Kish Presbyterian Church in Reedsville will host the 10th annual Alternative Gift Fair from 12:30-3:30PM.  Sixteen nonprofit organizations will have displays highlighting the wonderful work they are doing, both locally and around the world.

You make a donation to an organization, and we give you an acknowledgement card you can give as a gift.  A teacher might like a gift that gives books to children.  A pet lover would love a gift that rescues abandoned animals.  The cook in your family would enjoy a gift that feeds the needy or home bound elderly.  Gifts at the Alternative Gift Fair can change lives!

This year your visit to the Alternative Gift Fair can mean even more!  In celebration of our tenth year, we are awarding the People’s Choice Award.  Each person attending the Alternative Gift Fair will be able to vote for one organization.  The group receiving the most votes will win $500!  Bring your kids!  They can vote for their favorite group and there will be free crafts, treats and a chance to Touch the (Fire) Truck!

Some families make Alternative Gift Fair donations instead of exchanging other gifts.  Others make a donation in thanksgiving for all the gifts they have received.  Still others make gifts in memory of loved ones who have passed away.

Can’t come to the fair that Sunday?  You can still participate by printing out a donation form and mailing it in by December 17th.  We’ll mail your acknowledgement cards back to you!  Simple, easy, and life changing!
